This week, I moved the 4′ assortment of Mark’s Choice & Trail Blazer products at Palmer Home Hardware in Berwick and visited Ace Lumber Mart, Better Buy Sports, Lakeland Plant World, Nova Specialty Building Materials and Walker’s Livestock Feed & Supplies in Dartmouth. I received a catalog request from a tool importer based in New Zealand.
Gaston Monge-Grassi found Trail Blazer’s web site when he was looking for high quality ratcheting loppers and after reviewing Trail Blazer’s web site, he requested our catalog. Gaston is with a New Zealand importer & distributor of high quality tools like Silky saws manufactured in Japan, Lowe secateurs crafted in Germany and soon “I hope” Trail Blazer Products made in Nova Scotia, Canada. I visited their website www.silextools.co.nz to learn they supply the horticultural & arboricultural, woodworking and industry sectors. Their horticultural and arboricultural products are sold through specialist retailers throughout New Zealand. I was very pleased and excited Gaston was interested in Trail Blazer’s Telescopic Ratcheting Loppers and sent him our product catalogue & pricing immediately.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Gaston for visiting Trail Blazer’s web site, his interest in Trail Blazer’s Telescopic Ratcheting Loppers and informing me that he enjoyed reading Trail Blazer’s story. I think it is very cool that Gaston in New Zealand read Trail Blazer’s story … working with Gaston & Silex Tools will be a great next chapter.
I decided to take an afternoon this week and visit some local stores in my home town, Dartmouth Nova Scotia. I visited Ace LumberMart where I was proud to hear how much the cashier (I will have to go back and get her name) and her husband loves Trail Blazer Products. Her husband use to work at Pierceys, who use to sell our products when they were locally owned & before they became a Rona. I visited Walker’s Livestock Feed & Supplies where Craig Walker informed me that he always checks out Trail Blazer’s new products at the Halifax Seed show (Halifax Seed is alocal distributor in Atlantic Canada with retail locations in Halifax & saint John), they have always been very impressed by all Trail Blazer’s products and is proud to offer them to their customers … And I am proud to have them available at Walker’s.
We work with dealers & distributors around the world like Silex Tools in New Zealand this week, Scandinavia last week and the United States the week before that. I get the same joy when I personally visit local stores in my home townDartmouth, Nova Scotia. Stores like Ace, only 2 minutes from Trail Blazer and Walker’s, 5 minutes from my home.
We received the non-break polypropylene this week, to begin producing our Xtreme™ Hatchets in New Brunswick for the very first time and I was pleased to receive the samples, without the rubber grip, and 8 different color chips for approval. Trail Blazer’s Xtreme™ Ergo & Mini Hatchets were being produced in Kitchener Ontario after the plastic injection facility in Debert Nova Scotia closed down their operation, back in January 2010. We are going to be offering our hatchets in multiple colors. I am pleased to approve the Mark’s Choice Red, Trail Blazer Blue & Hunter’s Orange this week with the addition of Yellow … Pink coming soon.
I will be meeting with our valued development team in Windsor Nova Scotia next week and our powder coater in Burnside “Dartmouth” soon after, to finalize one of the new products being made in Nova Scotia. A new product that will make a great addition to Trail Blazer products. Are you excited to learn what it is? … I’m excited to show you!!!
All the Best, Shawn Levangie
