This week, I performed in-store demos at Kent Building Supplies in Halifax and Saulnier’s Home Hardware in Yarmouth. I delivered and set-up product at Scotian Gold Cooperative in Coldbrook. I visited seven Home Hardware stores and delivered product to Vernon d’Eon Lobster Plugs Ltd in Middle West Pubnico Nova Scotia.
While I was performing an in-store demo last Saturday at Kent Building Supplies in Halifax Nova Scotia, I was very happy to receive a surprise visit from my caring wife Dawna and my youngest daughter Victoria. Victoria, my angel, performed the product demos for me, while I grabbed a quick sandwich at A&W with Dawna; kind of a romantic moment for two … well maybe not the most romantic moment but at least the two of us were alone together. While we were gone, I am excited to say, Victoria was in gear and demonstrating up a storm. She managed to sell her first Jumbo Ratcheting Anvil Lopper. Actually she managed to sell her first Trail Blazer product ever!! I am so very proud of her and I can now say that Trail Blazer products have been sold by 3 generations of Levangie’s
I’m excited to receive some further details, about Kent Building Supplies offering Trail Blazer’s Reverse D-Handle snow shovels next winter. They’re planning to have two models; our 20” shovel/pusher and our snow/grain shovel available at their Dartmouth, Halifax Nova Scotia, Fredericton, Moncton and Saint John New Brunswick locations.
When I was delivering the Trail Blazer products to Scotian Gold Cooperative in Coldbrook Nova Scotia this week, I took the opportunity to freshen up their wall display. The products they sold out of already this spring were, Trail Blazer’s 8″/20cm Forged Bypass Hand Pruners and both the Telescopic Ratchet Bypass and Anvil Loppers. I also added some new products to their assortment including Trail Blazer’s 9″/23cm Multi-Function Scissor, our new 8″/20cm One Hand Release Bypass Hand Pruners (also available in a floral trimmer or anvil prunner model) and an assortment of our top selling Xtend-A™ garden tools (Cultivator, Hoe, Scoop, Shrub Rake, Spade, Transplanter & Weeder). While I was setting up the assortment of 6 of each items … we sold 3 of the Xtend-A™ weeders before I even left the store.
Our Xtend-A™ garden tools can be attached to any universal threaded pole to give your back a break, or to get into hard to reach places. Our Xtend-A™ Weeder works great in all soil conditions, including gravel walkways and is good for scraping weeds from between patio stones and cracks in your driveway.
When I delivered Trail Blazer’s 9″/23cm Multi-Function Scissor to Vernon d’Eon Lobster Plugs Ltd in Middle West Pubnico Nova Scotia, I was made to feel welcomed by Neil d’Entremont the store manager and given the opportunity to meet Lloyd d’Eon the general manager and Marc d’Eon the purchasing manager to discuss increasing the number of Trail Blazer products they are offering. The show a great interest in our Take-Down Buck Saw and Xtend-A™ Saw.
We’re developing products for lawn & garden and designing products for outdoor retailers. We need to expand our snow removal products and would like to introduce products to complement our paint poles. Now, I have a desire to develop more products for the lobster fishermen … I should have time!!
I enjoyed performing in-store demos of Trail Blazer products at Saulnier’s Home Hardware in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia from 10am - 2pm today, with other reps from Cub Cadet, Milwaukee tools, Kerr Controls, Traegar BBQ and Maax. We were all there to finish off their Giant Tent Sale which started Wednesday & finished today, Saturday. I didn’t just sell, it appears the demos may have worked on me as well, I plan to be back soon to purchase one of the Traeger Wood Pellet Grills!! While I was there, I enjoyed a great hamburger and hot dog … yes I had both … I had to, it was a good cause. The Special Olympics were having a barbecue to raise money.
I’ll be performing in-store demos in June. You can find me Saturday June 9th at Blomidon Nurseries in Wolfville, Saturday June 16th at Gow’s Home Hardware in Bridgewater, Friday June 22ndat Wilson’s Home Hardware in Barrington Passage and Saturday June 23rdat Sissiboo Home Hardware in Weymouth Nova Scotia.
Looking back, May 28th, 2011
One Year Ago, Trail Blazer products enjoyed a visite by four members of the Department of Economic and Rural Development.
Today, nobody is visiting that I’m aware of … then again I’m spending 3-4 days a week visiting valued partners.
All the Best, Shawn Levangie
