Hard Core Hunters choose Trail Blazer

Steve Hipson

Steve Hipson

We were visited by Steve Hipson this week.  Steve is the owner & guide with Fox Harbour Outfitters, Atlantic Canada’s one stop hunting experience offering all four Atlantic Canadian big game species (Moose, Black Bear Woodland Caribou & Whitetail Deer) and also upland & migratory birds, salmon & trout fishing.

As the owner, guide and more importantly an avid hunter, Steve has been on numerous big game hunts.  He understands what is required to have a successful hunting and fishing adventure. Their primary goal is to ensure you have the most enjoyable hunting and fishing experience possible (the right tools help – like Trail Blazer products).

The purpose of his visit was to let us know about his new TV show ”Hard Core Hunter” coming to the Outdoor Channel & Wild TV in 2011!  Steve and his co-host Tim Harvey did a video shoot in our production facility & interview in my office.  They will be offering our products on their website with ”Hard Core Hunter” on them.

We also discussed getting our sales team together for a Black Bear hunt here in Nova Scotia with style.  Not only will you get the thrill of the real outdoors Nova Scotia has to offer, but will enjoy staying in a modern log cabin, fully equipped with everyday necessities. (including satellite television and my favorite home cooked meals)

Jim Russell from St.Louis & Jim Olles from Chicago are both avid hunters.  Jim R is our repersentative and reason for Trail Blazer’s success with Sam’s Club while Jim O is our repersentative and reason for Trail Blazer’s success with Menards.  I believe both would enjoy hunting Black Bear in Nova Scotia & I will learn this week if they read my blog.

Canada Games Oval

Canada Games Oval

This week I also had the pleasure of being a chaperone for Victoria, my daughter’s grade 6 class.  During this time I was introduced to many of her friends and  I saw her being dared to kiss a boy! How did she grow up so fast?  I had to interrupt them immediately and …… also dare her to kiss that boy.  She didn’t (Phew!!) but did go on her first double date, with the same boy last night to see the movie “Yogi Bear” (Sigh!!) with her big brother joining the ranks of chaperone’s.

Other than following boys, They spent the morning skating on the Canada Games Oval.  The ice surface of the oval is BIG, equivalent to 3 NHL hockey rinks. The Canada Games Oval will be used by Canada’s best young athletes from February 11-27 for Halifax’s first Canada Winter Games. They will compete in more than 20 sports (like hockey, speed skating, figure skating, curling, gymnastics, ringette, boxing, archery, wheelchair basketball, synchronized swimming, badminton, squash and judo) at various venues around the city and nearby ski hills.  Go Nova Scotia Go!!

All the Best, Shawn Levangie
